Flexibility is a key philosophy of the Wangaratta Stingrays Swimming Club - please use these categories as a guide only as both age and ability will be taken into consideration for each individual swimmer.

Dolphin (under 10 years)

Dolphins are swimmers who are transitioning from learn to swim through to competing in all four strokes. Training will generally be 1 to 3 sessions per week.
Picture

Eel (10 to 12 years)

Eels are swimmers who are advancing in stroke competency and therefore require more sessions with greater intensity. Morning sessions may also be part of their weekly training schedule. Eels will generally be swimming 4 sessions per week.

  Stingray (12 years & over)

Stingers are our senior swimmers. They will be participating in advanced and more intense training that will usually involve morning and afternoon sessions. Training will generally 5 or more sessions per week.

Sea Otter

Sea otters are swimmers wishing to participate on an irregular basis. This group is designed for once weekly swimmers seeking stroke correction and training based intensity. Consistent use of this category at 2 or more sessions per week will default swimmers to a higher category (coach and committee’s discretion).
We ask that swimmers please provide their own equipment such as kick board, paddles, fins, pull buoy and drink bottle.
