Our Values
The Wangaratta Stingrays Swim Club has been founded on the philosophy of 'fun, fair, inclusive and flexible'. We believe that as well as being a great skill for life, swimming is a great way to have fun, keep fit, make friends and promote an active, balanced and healthy lifestyle.
We are a community-based family-friendly swimming club providing regular training to improve and promote fitness and swimming technique for all ages. Our club is committed to being a professional, welcoming and family-friendly organisation enabling members to transition after 'learn to swim' programs through our squad programs to continue their development as swimmers and/or competitors. Members are able to compete locally and, with eligible times, at state or national levels.

Member Protection Officer
The role of a club MPIO is to act as a confidential sounding board for any issue a member may wish to discuss. It is the role of the MPIO to help clarify the issue and provide information about the relevant pathway for addressing it should the person wish to proceed further. The MPIO will not make a complaint on your behalf but support you to raise an issue via the relevant pathway should you choose to do so. We recognise that sometimes just having a chat is enough, although there are certain imminent risks to child safety which it is mandatory for the MPIO to report. As our club has adopted the National Integrity Framework (NIF), the MPIO role may include providing you with information about how to make a complaint or raise a concern under relevant member protection and child safeguarding policies. The MPIO may also listen to complaints around bullying, personal grievances or selection issues and refer people to the right contact for a resolution. Given it is a small club the MPIO will always be aware of conflicts of interest and offer suggestions for alternative club members who can support you if a conflict of interest is present.
Our current MPIO officer is Clare Conway [email protected] 0438 278 629 |
